The Browning Maxus is a semi automatic shotgun that works with a gas system. This means that some of the gas that develops when the weapon is fired is “tapped” further down the system and used to reheat the weapon. The advantage of a gas system is the reduced recoil. So more shooting comfort, especially when heavier cartridges are used.
